Fred Lebayle (born 1960) worked as a metal tool worker in his father company in France. As an enthusiastic saxophone player, he started designing mouthpieces for himself, trying to emulate the Charly Parker sound. In 1987 he set up his own mouthpiece business as a one-man venture, and recently (2006) added a member to his workshop. His mouthpieces are being played by Wayne Shorter, Barnford Marsalis (tenor and soprano), Jerry Bergonzi, Coutney Pine (tenor), Greg Osby, Jan Gabarek (soprano) and Candy Dulfer (alto).
