Description: The inscription at the top of the mouthpiece “A/L” and “Lelandais Paris” (below left) is near-identical to earlier Charles Chedeville mouthpieces reading “C/C” and “Chedeville Paris” (below right), indicating that this mouthpiece was a continuation of an earlier Chedeville design after Lelandais took over Chedeville in 1949.

Description: This hard rubber mouthpiece with inlaid metal ring around the shank is marked with “Super Trumpet” and the A. Lelandais Paris logo. The IV tip opening is marked on the side near the rear of the table. Tip opening is 0.077”. Sidewalls are curved and a small oblong throat leads into a round chamber. This mouthpiece was also available in alto and possibly other sizes.
Lelandais was a company based in Paris, France, that produces high-quality and popular mouthpieces. In 1949, Lelandais took over the Charles Chadeville company and produced mouthpieces with a similar design.

Description: On the left is a Lelandais ‘Continental’ alto model. The tip opening is marked ‘C’ on the table; the side is fluted like early Selmer mouthpieces. The biteplate is made of wood-grained plastic. Written on the top is ‘Continental’ in a circle. ‘France’ is written at the lower end of the top. Note that the ligature is not the original that came with the mouthpiece (which would have been a slide-on ligature).
