Description:  Gregory Master mouthpieces have their tip openings encoded in the number on the shank. In this case, ‘5A18’ means a tip opening of 5 and a medium chamber (16: small, 18: medium, 20: large).

On the left is an unfinished Model A tenor blank. Note the missing logo at the top of the body and the missing stamps on the side.

Description:  This is a rare Gale Hollywood ‘3-Dot’ tenor mouthpiece (demanding high prices in auctions). The metal band on the shank read ‘Hollywood’. They were named after M.C. Gregory’s daughter. This mouthpiece was used by Gerry Mulligan (below).

Description:  The ‘Model A’ was the first mouthpiece made by M. C. Gregory. Shown here is a rather rare ‘Model A’ 5A-20 hard rubber mouthpiece for tenor saxophone. They were made in Los Angeles and distributed by the Rico company.

Description:  These very rare Gale ‘Triple-Rail’ tenor mouthpiece have a very unusual chamber that is similar to the Dukoff fluted camber mouthpieces. ‘Triple Rail’ mouthpieces were hand finished by Gregory and feature the same three white dots as the ‘3-Dot’ model above. Below is an original box.
